This was the first de-modeling thing to go. The thick carpeting leading up to the second floor from the kitchen. What remains is a fairly old set of wooden stairs that I hope will remain once the renovations are done.
Speaking of de-modeling, Michael spent a good bit of time today making the first floor bathroom less of a home depot showroom.
Later today he met with Michael of Moly to discuss plans. All the kids keep saying extend over the kitchen. we'll see....
reality
Reality set in last week. Well, reality set in for the first time last week. I think we will be going through it in waves for the next year or so. At first we hoped to have most of the major framing and construction completed before moving in. HA! Reality says we will be lucky to have it planned by then, and that's before the permit two step.
I'm really hoping that we can accomplish everything we want to do. Right now we are working with the project management triangle of time, cost, and quality. We are hoping by extending the time it will allow the cost to be managed and the quality to remain high. I guess the next steps would be scaling back the plans, let's hope we don't have to go there to soon.
