I think I mentioned before that there was a small glitch in putting the door in the basement. It had to do with moving the electricals running across the ceiling in order for the door to swing fully.
I found an electrician on craig's list. This guy post everyday like clock work-- he says it keeps the jobs coming in. On the one hand it does seem a bit compulsive on the other hand how many trades guys can you count on to do anything in a routine manner? ...but I digress.
He's replacing the flex conduit with rigid and putting in proper boxes. He will also run it in a bit more consolidated fashion near the heat pipe you see in the foreground.
He seemed like an ok sort and talked a good enough game to make me wanna buy. He made an offer, I made a counter cash price offer, and we were good to go. He says he can do the work Saturday morning.
whew! i am once again caught up on the blog front.
now that i am finished with course work (although i still have one more paper on goddesses and archetypes--don't ask, it's california), i am re-learning how to be an international woman of leisure... which, of course, includes reading psychologicallly insightful house blogs.
happy holidays, btw. you're all welcome for a visit...
