no time for a long post. just wanted to share refinement on design. again. attic has really come together since last design was shared. now an intersection of two volumes: prism meets cube. (does a cube have to be made of squares?)
i'm also coming around to the fact that window boxes will most likely cost more money than they're worth; hence the alternate exterior design. toby wants super huge trim. basically, just big boards. we saw it on a house in the neighborhood and both thought it looked good.
and as you can see from all the closet layouts, this area has also undergone modification. as has the main bathroom. no more tub. who takes baths anyway?
obvious answer is a hexagon. what i meant to ask was: what do you call a six-side three-dimensional solid. in other words, is a cube made only of squares, and if so what do you call it's rectangular cousin?

It's called a rectangular prism.
a prism doesn't require 90 degree angles. so you have to specify rectangular.

Well, there are many kinds of six-sided polygon, there's a cube and there's a prism.
